Abstract

In a case of cervical esophageal perforation by an strange body -a piece of meat which the patient tried to push with the aid of a "bombilla" (metal tube for drinking "mate" infusion)- the joint and coordinated action of endoscopist and surgeon solved the problem successfully.
This collaboration is important in the treatment of esophageal perforations by alien bodies.
