Abstract

Periductal mastitis is a benign affection of the breast, which adopts varied clinical forms: nipple secretion, sub-arareolar tumefaction with ar without inflammatory component, abscesses and fistulization. These aspects mix together and in its chronic course tend to get worse gradual/y, evolving with relapsing crisis. As regards a series of 20 cases, the authors revise pathology and make clinical and therapeutical considerations. They emphasize the possibility of resemblance to breast cancer and the need to be alert in arder to avoid error in diagnosis. As far treatment, authors prefer total resection of galactophoros surgery in arder to avoid relapses, and describe its technique.
