Its diagnosis value in choledocholithiasis
Keywords:
cholangiographyAbstract
An analysis has been made on a series of 400 patients operated on by Dr. B . D . for biliary lithiasis with routine cholangiography . It has been demonstrated that this technique causes
no morbidity or death rate, and it has proved to be trustworthy in 96,3 % of the cases.
An unsuspected choledocholithiasis was found in a 5,1 % of the -cases. The false positives monted up to a 2,8 %, and the false negatives to a 5,1 %. The above mentioned results have been compared with the ones obtained by other authqrs, and these studies have emphasized the fact that the routine use of operatory cholangiography diminishes the porcentage
of useless choledochotomies and residuary choledocholithiasis without presenting any additional risk.
