Abstract


Authors analyze a series ol 26 palients effected by
"problem" cholostatic jaundice. Differential diagnosis
between "medica!" and "surgical" jaundice was established
in all cases by the use of a modified forma of
S. Sherloct's algorhythmic scheme. The etiological
diagnosis was: Biliary cancer: 9 cases; choledocho•
lithiasis: 5 cases; cirrhosis: 3 cases; panc;reatic cancer,
lntrinsec biliary compression, chronic pancreatitis and
hepatitis: 2 cases each; and cirrhosis associated with
choledocholithiasls: 1 case.
