Abstract

Esophageal ligation was performed in six dogs with hard rings that could be elimited. Long - term effects were studied by means of radiology, endoscopy, manometry and pathological anatomy. The period ever which this evaluation was carried out were 21 and 142 days.
Findings revealed that there had been complete section of esophagus with amputation o'f all planes; it had healed in the shape of a ring and was well epithelized.
No removed organic stenosis was found. Stenosis suggested by radiology -which was not ratified by endoscopy- is probably consecutive to dyskinetic disturbances.
