Urological experience with· fust twenty patiens wih kidney trasplans in Uruuay is presented and discused. Particular reference is made to methodology applied in evaluation of living and cadaveric donors, evaluation of ecipiens, pre-trnsplant surgery of the recipient, operative technics in living nd cadaveric donors, kidney reimplantation in the recipient, postoperative mnagement, surgical complications management n d the long term control. We point out the importance nd necessity of the orgnization as well as he coordination in order to Practise transplants with cadaveric kidneys.
The whole national repors aboutkidney transplantation is presented, as well as a selection of foreing repors refering or urological management and results of the Procedure.
Though the number and ime of following of our casuistic are short for a good correlation with foreing results, no significative differences are observed. This group of patiens has gíven us experience in many of the particular instances that are often observed in this type of surgery.
