Sigmoid volvulus

The authors have treated 6 cases of sigmoid volvulus. In this paper they analyze those elements of assistance in the formulating of a better clinical-radiological diagnosis and they asses usual features such as advanced age, frequency of serious lesiona! association, prolonged evolution before consulting physician, recurrence, high death-rate.
Surgical tactics to be employed in each particular circumstance are discussed.
