Exceptional resources in limb revascularization
Compound aortopopliteal and axilopopliteal bypass
Keywords:
arterial, by pass (iliac)Abstract
The authors present 4 cases of complex revascuiarization in patients previously operated for obstructive arteriopathy of lower extremities. The belong to a series of 800 patients operated of which 304 correspond to proximal revascularization.
Difficulties on the dissection of the femoral tripod owing to the first operation made it necessary to use extended bypasses with combined prothesis of dacron and vein. The utility of these procedures is discussed.
Although exceptional they seem fundamental when the indication is present. The 4 cases were performed succesfully. They are still permeable at the time of this presentation with a period variable between 2 and 20 months.
