Review of different tactics and techniques in conservative parotidectomy, emphasizing their fundamental
characteristics. Techniques individualizing the VII pair are preferabte by reason of their preglandular trunk. The authors point out the usefulness of combining nerve - finding
techniques and extirpation of SCM aponeurosis in the area in which it is attached to the gland. In this manner surgery is oncologically minor and possibility
of tumoral dissemination or nervous wounds is reduced.
